ADELE R. DECOF FOUNDATION
THE ADELE R. DECOF FOUNDATION is a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation formed for the purpose of improving cancer care and treatment, with a special focus on breast cancer. It is named for and inspired by Adele R. Decof, a remarkable woman of vision, who battled breast cancer with grace and courage for eight years.
Our goal is to endow qualified hospitals and cancer centers to develop advanced treatment programs designed for the individual patient, to provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art treatment, preserve dignity, and improve quality of life for cancer patients.
In Rhode Island, where cancer rates are higher than the national average, hospitals are straining to keep pace with the burgeoning need for state-of-the-art care and treatment. The Foundation supports cancer programs in underserved community areas in order to provide all cancer patients with the best available treatment options in a setting close to home.
The Foundation runs a number of fundraising events to support these goals. Our signature events are the Adele Decof Invitational Golf Tournaments, held yearly in August at a choice local venue. Each year we welcome a roster of stars from the world of golf to teach and play with local amateurs in a setting of relaxed fun and friendly competition. Our reputation has grown exponentially, spurring excitement and demand for the next Tournament to come. With these and other events the Foundation has raised over $1,000,000 to date to fight cancer.
