Finding Better Ways to Treat Cancer.

Endowments

STRENGTH, CARING AND COMPASSION were the hallmarks of Adele R. Decof's character, and now set the tone for Foundation-endowed programs.

WE ENDOW qualified cancer programs and institutions which offer a treatment program to include state-of-the-art treatment options from expert physicians and caregivers, in an easily accessible setting of coordinated care designed to meet the needs of the individual patient.

WITH THE JOINT EFFORTS of the Foundation and its grantees, the endowed programs will lead the way in raising standards of cancer treatment, forging new research and innovative treatment, and striving on behalf of the patients and families they serve to provide the best, most comprehensive care and treatment available.

IN 2002 THE ADELE R. DECOF CANCER CENTER at Roger Willams Medical Center was dedicated.  Soon after, the Center established the first Patient Navigator position for cancer patients.  In 2009 the Center was expanded to bring multidisciplinary treatment to patients in one easy location.  Today it continues to provide outstanding care and treatment to all who need it.

IN 2006 THE ADELE R. DECOF CANCER CENTER at The Miriam Hospital was dedicated.  The Foundation helped purchase the hospital's first digital mammography machine, resulting in earlier detection of tumors and better prognoses.  Currently plans are underway for a major expansion and upgrade of services, to accommodate the overflow of patients in this very successful program.
